The CCDI’s primary focus in the national security domain is to build a robust and inclusive counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, and crime prevention strategy. This includes utilizing modern digital technology and geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) to monitor security threats, manage resources, and respond efficiently to both internal and external security challenges.
Objectives:
- Develop community-based security structures to foster local involvement in security and reduce dependence on the top-down, centralized military approach.
- Implement bottom-up security frameworks that align with the needs of local communities, ensuring timely responses to security threats at the grassroots level.
- Utilize GEOINT, surveillance technologies, and digital tools to strengthen border security, monitor criminal activities, and manage counter-terrorism efforts.
- Enhance collaboration between communities and security forces to report suspicious activities and support crime prevention efforts.
Impact:
The CCDI’s focus on national security ensures that Cameroon can protect its citizens from emerging threats, while reducing crime and fostering greater community participation in national security initiatives.
